Welcome aboard đź‘‹
Â
If you’ve just signed up to SYMU, you might be wondering what happens next - and whether everything’s working exactly as it should.
Â
Good news: you’re on track. This guide walks you through your first 24 hours with SYMU, so you know what’s normal, what might take a little time, and when to call mission control.
Â
Right After You Sign Up
Â
Once you’ve completed sign-up, a few things kick off behind the scenes.
Â
You’ll:
Â
- Â Â Get access to your SYMU Account
- Â Â Be assigned an eSIM
- Â Â Be guided through installing it on your phone
Â
No plastic SIMs. No waiting for the post. Just a smoother launch sequence.
Â
Where You’ll Get Your eSIM QR Code
Â
Your eSIM QR code will be available:
Â
- Â Â By email, and
- Â Â Inside your SYMU Account
Â
Simply scan the QR code using your phone’s camera or network settings and follow the on-screen steps. Your plan will activate digitally - no inserting or swapping required.
Â
If you’re setting up multiple phones (for family members, for example), each device will have its own eSIM ready to go in your account.
Â
Activation Timelines: What’s Normal?
Â
In most cases, activation happens within minutes of installing your eSIM.
Â
That said, a few things can take a little time:
Â
- Â Â New connections may take up to 30 minutes to fully settle
- Â Â Number transfers follow a separate process and timeline
Â
Occasionally, parts of your service may come online at slightly different times. That’s normal -everything usually aligns on its own shortly after.
Â
If You’re Transferring Your Number
Â
If you’re bringing your existing number to SYMU, your setup will happen in two stages.
Â
First, your eSIM and plan will activate - usually within minutes.
Then, your number transfer (also known as porting) completes separately.
Â
Getting your PAC codeÂ
Â
To move your number, you’ll need a PAC code from your current network.
Â
The quickest way to get one is to:
Â
- Â Â Text PAC to 65075 from the number you want to keep
Â
Your network will send your PAC code straight back. It’s free, usually instant, and valid for 30 days. If it expires before you use it, you’ll just need to request a new one.
Â
What to do once you’ve got your PAC code
Â
Once your PAC code lands, the next steps are quick and easy.
Â
- Â Â Â Log in to your SYMU Account
- Â Â Â Head to the number transfer section
- Â Â Â Enter your PAC code and the number you want to keep
- Â Â Â Submit the request
Â
That’s it - we’ll take it from there.
Â
Number transfers usually take place by the next working day. Transfers can’t be scheduled on weekends or UK bank holidays, so if you submit your PAC code during those times, the transfer will start processing on the next working day.
Â
Until then, your SYMU eSIM may show a temporary number, and your old SIM will keep working as normal.
Â
On the day your number moves over, there may be a short period where calls or texts don’t work. This usually settles quickly once the handover is complete.
Â
Think of it as a planned relay rather than a sudden switch-off.
Â
If Calls, Texts, or Data Don’t Work Right Away
Â
If something isn’t working immediately, don’t panic - it doesn’t mean anything’s gone wrong.
Â
A few quick checks to try:
Â
- Â Â Give it a little time after activation
- Â Â Â Restart your phone
- Â Â Check that your SYMU eSIM is set as the active line
- Â Â Make sure mobile data is turned on
Â
Phones sometimes just need a moment to re-orient themselves in a new network universe 🌍
